URBAN FOX SPRINGS SHOCK IN PRETTY POLLY

Forever Together, who had won the Oaks, Gr.1 was expected to run away with the Pretty Polly Stakes, Gr.1 at the Curragh but she was overrun by Urban Fox (Foxwedge – Lomapamar) who registered her first Stakes win when tried over 8f. She tracked the pacesetter Bye Bye Baby (Galileo) and took over the running in the home run. Forever Together came with a brief challenge but it was of no consequence for Urban Fox drew clear of her younger rival to win by 3¼ lengths. Athena (Camelot) took third, 2 ¼ lengths behind stable mate Forever Together. The winner was earlier trained by James Tate and is now under the care of William Haggas who felt a step up in trip would do her good, and she proved the point in victory.
