Next up for Good Magic will probably be the Travers at Saratoga in late August.Talking of Saratoga, the Jim Dandy Stakes was taken by Tenfold in a short field that was headed by Vino Rosso, who was never in the race and finished third. Ricardo Santana was in the saddle forthe Steve Asmussen trained son of Curlin who was winning his third start for earnings of $655,000. Despite bearing out badly in the final furlong, Tenfold was able to hold on to beat Flameaway. Tenfold was third in the Preakness and fifth in the Belmont, so he will now be one of the logical contenders to take on Good Magic in the Travers.
Over at Del Mar the connections of Justify brought the horse down to parade in front of the fans before being shipped to WinStar Farm in Kentucky. On the track, another superstar was being celebrated with the running of the Bing Crosby Stakes for sprinters.A jam packed field of speedsters was headed by Breeders Cup Sprinthero Roy H who was coming off a third place finish in the Golden Shaheen at Dubai in March. Roy H was run off his feet in the early stages but was able to finish second behind the fast closing Ransom The Moon who also happened to win the race in 2017.
