PRINCESS P RUNS AWAY WITH THE MERINT DUBAI MILLION

To support the launch of their luxurious real estate project, 219 Boat Club, the Merint Group sponsored the Merint Dubai Million that saw eight speed artistes face the starter. Enchanted who had won her first outing well over the same 5f trip in Pune was expected to repeat that performance again and went out the favourite in the race. Jockey P Trevor who was astride the Dallas Todywalla-trained Princess P (Phoenix Tower-Torque) was quickest out of the gates and succeeded in keeping hold of the advantage though not without the threat of a challenge coming from her worthy opponents. Gallant Knight came up with a good run but could not rope in the front runner finishing 1¼ lengths in second at the wire and will probably be a winner when tried further next time out. Wise Child and Miss Moneypenny followed him home in third and fourth respectively. The favourite Enchanted seemed to be the first under pressure finishing a disappointing sixth while the Bangalore challenger Malawi did put in a brief challenge in the straight but finished a long neck ahead of Enchanted in fifth.
