SELFIE STAR SHATTERS TRACK RECORD IN THE EVE CHAMPION TROPHY, GR 3

Selfie Star on her way to shattering the course record

In her first start this season the Dallas Todywalla-trained Selfie Star (Excellent Art-Maharanee) finished 6¼ lengths in second to Auburn over the mile, a run that set her in good stead for her next appearance. In a field of seven horses in the Eve Champion Trophy, Gr.3 where B Fifty Two went out the favourite, Selfie Star was settled well in third while the favourite set about trying to make every post a winning one over the mile and a quarter. The rest of the field were in close attendance till heads turned for home. Neeraj Rawal set Selfie Star in motion and she responded with a tremendous challenge breaking away from the field winning in splendid fashion, shattering the track record in the process, covering the distance in 2:02.69secs. B Fifty Two kicked on to finish in second 3½ lengths behind the winner with Vulcan and Whomakestherules filling the frame. She will next be seen in the Idar Gold Cup.
