HARD TO BEAT THE PREVALENT FORCE
He might have been the favourite in the H H Sri Krishnaraja Wadiyar Memorial Trophy, Gr.3 run over 7f, but the Darius Byramji-trained Prevalent Force (Multidimensional-Prevalence) was running with good company, a few of the ten-horse field being multi-Group winners. In his entire career of thirteen races, jockey Y S
Srinath has been his partner in the saddle. So when the gates open he was fluently brought out of the widest draw of the ten horse field to sit in fourth on the outside of Accolade with Cavallo Veloce and Tutankhamun in the lead. Castlebridge who was travelling wide in the rear came up alongside and went ahead to join the frontrunners.
Prevalent Force was content in fifth as they maneuvered the home turn. Into the home stretch Tutankhamun and Accolade fought for the lead while Prevalent Force took the turn wide but was brought into contention in a few strides. Knowing full well how his horse will respond, Srinath dug deep and Prevalent Force was soon into the lead with Justice Angel who was languishing at the rear making a serious challenge. There was no stopping him, and Prevalent Force went past the post a length to the good of Justice Angel, to record his eighth career win. Tutankhamun held on for third 2¼ lengths away with Accolade a neck behind in fourth.
