CERISE NOIR – NEW CREATION – SHESMYSCRIPT TO FIGHT IT OUT IN THE BANGALORE 1000 GUINEAS
CERISE NOIR
(Win Legend – Cerise) b f rated 61
The winner of two of her three starts, won on debut over 6f and when up against a stronger lot
finished in third to New Moon and Psychic Force, 1½ length behind the winner and a neck behind Psychic Force. She started her winter campaign with a solid win, 9¼ lengths ahead of the field. This win clearly indicates that she is in great form and will be the one to beat in the 1000 Guineas.
NEW CREATION
(Multidimensional-Tarnished Lady) b f rated 52
She won on debut over 6f by 2¼ lengths, then finished second to Poseidon by 1½ length over the mile. She then ran a Class 3 open company race over the mile in Mysore, winning by 2 lengths. With David Allan in the saddle, she will be in strong contention for this Classic.
OOMPH
(Midnight Interlude-Jahanara) b f rated 45
She has raced seven times, still a maiden, finishing sixth in the Forbes Breeders’ Juvenile Fillies Championship Stakes in Mumbai and the Fillies Trial Stakes in Bangalore. In her last outing she was 2¾ length second to Sakura in the Fillies Trail Stakes over 7f in Mysore, 4¾ length ahead of Hammersmith. She will have to up the oomph factor if she has to have a say in this race.
ORENDA
(Dean’s Kitten-Shanley) ch f rated 45
She won her first race on her fifth career start beating Mew Culpa by 2½ length over the 7f trip. She finished in fifth in the Mysore 1000 Guineas, seven lengths behind the winner, Isn’t She Lovely, six lengths behind Shesmyscript who finished in third and 3¼ behind Mea Culpa who got the better of her in this race finishing fourth. In her prep race for the Guineas she finished in fourth so she will have much to do to upset the applecart.
HAMMERSMITH
(Phoenix Tower – Samsa) dk b f rated 37
She started her career finishing fourth to Sakura in the Mysore Fillies Trial Stakes. Oomph finished in second, 4¾ lengths ahead of Hammersmith in the race. She then shed her maiden status in Pune with a win over Golden Hind by ¾ length over 7f. She was then stretched over the mile in the General Rajendrasinhji Million finishing again in fourth, this time to Truly Epic. It will be a difficult task taking on the likes of the better performed local horses, but it’s worth a try.
BLUE MOON
(Win Legend-Integrate) b f rated 37
On her first outing in Bangalore in the Youngsters Million run over 7f, while stabled with trainer G Nityanand she finished last but one in a field of eleven runners. This race was won by Star Superior with Oomph in fifth, way too many lengths separating the two fillies. Transferred to the stables of trainer Neil Darashsah she then came out and won early this season, the win being over 1100m which she did in 1:06.53s. She has to not only turn the tables on Oomph, but also take on stiffer opposition over the longer distance, which may be a hard task set out for her.
SHESMYSCRIPT
(Whatsthescript-So Charm) b f 42
A winner on debut over the 7f trip she has since then been raced over the mile, second to Desperado by 3¾ lengths in the Bangalore Summer Million and then third to Isn’t She Lovely in the Mysore 1000 Guineas by a length. Isn’t She Lovely heads to Mahalaxmi for the Indian 1000 Guineas. Sakura who finished second beating Shesmyscript by a nose, is in Hyderabad for the fillies Classic there. She has her well performed local challengers to contend with and should be right there in the finish.
HARMONIA
(Excellent Art-Touch My Soul) b f rated 22
Yet to shed her maiden status after two runs this filly is out of her depth in this race.
