DESERT GOD WINS BANGALORE ST LEGER BACK TO BACK

He’s all power and stamina and he has proved this time and again. Desert God (Burden Of Proof) won the Bangalore St Leger in 2018, then went on to win the Golconda St Leger and was back on the scene in 2019 to win the Tetrasoft Inc Bangalore St Leger, Gr.2 by ¾ length.
The seven-year-old, the oldest in the field of six went off in his customary front running role and called the shots, with jockey Sandesh slowing the pace when he needed a breather. It was a procession that remained constant throughout the race and when the field got into the final run in jockey Sandesh, with confidence didn’t not push till he had Roberta breathing down on his flanks. It took a bit off urging to kick off and hard as Trevor astride Roberta tried to gain ground, Desert God was at the line ¾ ahead to claim yet another Group race to his tally. Point To Prove finished 4 lengths adrift in third with My Opinion a length away in fourth.

This mean machine has now won 14 Group races in his career, six Goup1 races; seven Group 2 races and one Group 3. Stakes earned by him is an astronomical ₹8,26,21,336. Only on two occasions did he fail to hit the board, winning 16 of his 25 starts, second in four starts and third thrice.
And the best part of him is that it isn’t over. He seems to be ready for more.
