MISSING YOU WINS THE GENERAL RAJENDRASINHJI MILLION IN STYLE

After a scintillating performance in the Poonawalla Breeders’ Multi- Million which she won by 1¼length beating Trouvaille, the Dallas Todywalla-trained Missing You (Arazan-Change Of Luck) was sent to Bangalore for the Fillies Classic. She clearly showed that she did not appreciate the change of venue, the track and the rain leaving behind rather disappointing performances. Shrugging this off as a thing of the past, she was nurtured to get back into winning ways and her preparation for this race saw her warm up well in a mock race.

Going out the favourite in the five horse field of the General Rajendrasinhji Million, jockey A Sandesh let Missing You warm her way into the lead and she was followed by Kariega and Mystic Bay with Majestic Warrior and Nekhbet in close attendance. They continued this way with Missing You in the lead, Kariega settled into second, Nekhbet and Mystic Bay running together and Majestic Warrior in last position. Before heads turned for home Mystic Bay had jostled his way into second with Kariega in third and the rest behind. Missing You had taken a three length lead while the rest of the field were off the bridle as they headed for the post. Majestic Warrior came with a challenge but only managed to get the better of Kariega and Mystic Bay as Missing You kept on well to line passing the post 3¼lengths ahead of Majestic Warrior who finished ¾length to the good of Kariega. A further five lengths away was Mystic Bay and last of five was Nekhbet.    

The property of Dr. Cyrus S Poonawalla, Mr Adar C Poonawalla and Mrs Natasha A Poonawalla has brushed off the disappointment of her sojourn in Bangalore and after covering the mile trip successfully in 1:36.90secs is on course for her winter Classic campaign.
